Washington DC area has three airports:

Reagan National

• approximately 30 minute drive from Bethesda/Rockville*
• has its own Metro stop on the blue and yellow lines in Virginia

NOTE: This airport may be the closest and easiest option if not renting a car or do not want to pay for an airport cab/shuttle.

Dulles International

• approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour car ride outside DC/MD*
• 5A Metrobus connects to Rosslyn Metro station on orange line in Virginia,

Baltimore Washington International (BWI)

• approximately 1 hour car ride from Bethesda/Rockville*
• has an Amtrak station which connects to Metro at New Carrollton station on the orange line in Maryland and Union Station in DC
• B30 Metrobus connects to Greenbelt Metro station in Maryland

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Subway and Buses)
Least expensive (approximately $5). Can enter travel locations in Trip Planner feature to identify appropriate trains and buses to get to your destination. A map of the Metro subway system is available at http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm .

Public Transportation: Hotel / NIH Main Campus and NCI at 6130 Executive Boulevard, Rockville

The Washington DC Metro-Rail system has a station on the NIH campus, called "Medical Center". Once out of the station, there are NIH campus shuttles, including a shuttle, called "Executive Plaza", which shuttles to 6130 Executive Blvd. The schedule can be accessed at NIH Shuttle Schedules . Please note that the shuttle arrival and departure times are somewhat variable so it is best to arrive at the stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time. The Executive Plaza Shuttle stops at three buildings before reaching 6130 Executive Blvd. It takes approximately 30 minutes for the NIH Shuttle to reach 6130 Executive Blvd after leaving the main NIH campus.

There is a NIH hotel shuttle to local hotels for patients. It seats 12 passengers and will take those going to NIH with patients given first priority. The schedule can be accessed at http://dtts.ors.od.nih.gov/hotel_shuttles.htm and click Patient Shuttles.

Some hotels offer their own transportation within a 2-3 mile radius. Please inquire about shuttle/car services at each individual hotel. Many hotels, such as those in downtown Bethesda, are also within walking distance to metro stations.

6130 Executive Blvd will be the sixth building on the left side of Executive Blvd after crossing Old Georgetown Rd.

If you are driving, we will validate parking. There is a parking lot for Executive Blvd North and South Buildings. If you enter the Executive Plaza, the parking lots are on the right. To the left is a different lot and we cannot validate. You will enter the gate and take a visitor ticket. We will provide validation stickers at the meeting.
